Productive Mindfulness School Assemblies

We all want children to feel comfortable at school, enjoy a sense of belonging, and experience success. The Productive Mindfulness assembly is designed for K–8 students and empowers them with practical self-help tools that help them succeed at school with resilience and grit.

Building on her degrees in sociology and child psychology and background in juvenile law enforcement and family mediation, Deborah Myers became a certified acupressure and Jin Shin Jyutsu (mind-body healing) practitioner. Since 1995, she’s been helping people of all ages get and stay well — physically and emotionally.

The Productive Mindfulness assembly engages students and staff to create a cooperative learning environment. The program introduces Deborah’s Daily Clean Your House Flow® (DCYHF) — a series of nine easy-to-follow acupressure techniques that enhance focus, clarity, and performance, supports a cooperative learning environment and helps children achieve their potential.

By practicing with Deborah in person, and supported by a lively animated video (see the intro video below), students discover firsthand how they can help themselves achieve a better school experience. Productive Mindfulness demonstrates how to gently place fingertips on specific acupressure points to help:

  • introduce mindfulness
  • calm down and pay attention in class
  • de-stress and focus on schoolwork
  • improve performance on exams, sports, and music
  • relax and sleep better at night
  • balance emotions for happier interactions
  • help reduce bullying and reactive patterns

The Daily Clean Your House Flow has been tested by teachers in classrooms over the past three years. Noticeable results include positive behavior management, better self-regulation, cooperative learning, and increased productivity. This presentation also supports PBIS, SEL, AVID, Title I, and similar district goals.

The Productive Mindfulness school assemblies offer kids practical self-help tools that they can use anytime. In less than 10 minutes a day, students can create a more positive, successful school experience. It’s easy. It’s fun. It works!

“I’m seeing a huge change in the way that the kids have been interacting all summer long. There are 100 kids here every day and when there are 100 kids, there are going to be conflicts. They are going to get on each other’s nerves and they’re going to get frustrated. What you’ve been able to teach them has given them additional tools in their toolbox on how to handle their own feelings. These tools are going to provide them with mental clarity, how to focus and concentrate on their tasks.

We thank you for being here and helping our kids. We really appreciate it. We’d love to have you come back and see us during the school year too. And I’d love to have you help the staff too.”
— Amber Heidtke, Executive Director, Boys and Girls Club Greater Santa Rosa

“There were quite a few kids who really resonated with what you taught them. In fact, just this morning, one of the kids was pretty overwhelmed by the energy of some of the other kids around him. He chose to sit in the corner and I saw him do some of the calming exercises that you had taught them. It brought him back to a calm place.”
—David Spanier, Education Coordinator, Boys and Girls Club Greater Santa Rosa

“What I’ve noticed with you being here is that there is a sense of calmness that is infectious throughout the club after your presentation with the kids. So as a person that oversees everything, it is very much appreciated. There’s less bickering and arguing. On a big grand scheme level you could just sense that they knew how to handle stuff. That has been really cool.”
—Mike Whetstone, Director of Operations, Boys and Girls Club of Greater Santa Rosa
